THE BRIEF

Create a brand that moves the cathedral into the 21st Century. It was important to the Chief Officer of the Cathedral, Timothy Pain, that the new brand  for Lichfield Cathedral, the only medieval three-spire cathedral in the UK, would be modern and contemporary and not bask in a medieval tradition and old-fashioned view of what a church related branding should be.

THE SOLUTION

A brand that is as flexible as the cathedral requires. It can be used either in the gold or the red, reversed out or on a light background, vertically or horizontally. A brand workshop with the cathedral staff ensured everyone got on board with the new identity and its application – some of which can be found in the print section of this portfolio.
